Schock’s Mission View Dairy is located in western Montana beneath the amazing Mission Mountains.  We are approximately one hour north of Missoula, Montana and two hours south of Glacier National Park.  The small town of St. Ignatius is about a ten minute drive from our house and is located on the Flathead Indian Reservation.

Just a few numbers:

Established in 1956.

Acres owned 270; leased 230.

Crops:  Alfalfa hay, grass hay, 

              hay and corn silage and 

              barley grain.

Animals:

100 Milking cows

31 Dry cows

50 Heifers bred

50 Breeding age animals

52 animals under 1 year old

2 Bulls

2 Dogs: the infamous Ralph and Jet

Milk produced daily:  5,800 lbs. 

(or roughly 11,600 ½ pint containers)

Milk produced annually: 

2 million pounds (1000 tons)
