ECHOLINK USE & COMMANDS


The 147.140 Echolink System:

Echolink Connects a Local Computer to a Radio and a Radio to another Radio or Computer. So if a user of the Plain's Repeater is driving down the highway he can simply use his DTMF (Touch-Pad) on his microphone and enter the correct None Number and connect to almost ANYWHERE in the World.
  Even a Ham Radio Operator stationed in Iraq can connect back to his Local area and talk to his Family that are Ham's too.

The Echolink system is actually located in Dixon, Montana. and Links via UHF to the Mountain
35 miles away, currently the transmitter is a Kenwood TM731A running 2 watts. into a 3 element yagi.

Echolink Automatic Actions:

System automatically Turns On
 at 7:30 AM

 

System Automatically Turns Off
 at 11:00 PM

 If Echolink is connected... Please disconnect if you plan to use the just the Repeater with General Rag-Chew, Atlanta and Helena does not need to have their repeaters tied up listening to our chats as we drive for 30-40 minutes using the repeater.

 

 Also, Allow for Other Repeaters to RESET their Time-Out Timers by coming up for AIR and letting the 147.140 Repeater Completely DROP every 2.5 Minutes.
