Hello to all users of the Plains 147.140+ Repeater.

.
Welcome, the New 7330 S-Com Repeater Controller is in and currently
we, KC7MRQ and I are advancing in the programming of the new TOY!
Here is a sample of the
being sent from the New Controllers Voice. We also will have a
version upload soon that will allow the
Plains Repeater Group to upload up-to 12 minutes of custom *.wav
files that can be added to the 7330 Controller to be played in
about
any area we would like have the Repeater or LINKS to play them.
Keeping in mind... Each PORT ( 3 ) each has their Own independent
Speech
and can be played at anytime. There might be some changes coming to
the Plains Repeater. The Repeater and Link to So. Browning/East
Glacier
or as we call it, The Cut Bank Link will stay the same. OPEN. Any
Licensed Amateur is free to use the system. Also if you are
interested in helping the
operation costs of the repeater and link you can send any amount you
wish to do so. However. If you would like access to the Repeaters
3rd
PORT. Any licensed Amateur will have to Support that part of the
system. This will insure that the system is not abused and the only
way to access
the 3rd port is with Special Commands. Once a user hears the New
Bells, You'll understand Fully... WHY. It is both Corey's and my own
target to
make you proud to have such a nice seamless working system at the
command of your DTMF Microphone. Personally, I am proud of the
Plains Repeater and I want you to be also. Also, Coverage is going
to be increasing too. Another addition is coming next Spring.

Plains Repeater History:
Hello, my name is Keith Rodgers
and in 1985, I at the time had the Amateur Radio Call as WB7WBJ, I am now K7KTR
and back then I was an avid outdoor hunter, although thinking of it. I have never heard of an
indoor hunter? I have hunted all over Western Montana and that is how I found
the Pat's Knob electronic site.
I was hunting in the Plains, area and was driving along the
ridge of the Pat's Knob area and with my 2 meter radio and I heard on
146.520 a conversation that Chuck, WA7ZOO and Al, N7AEV and upon learning of
their locations, I thought of how great of a Ham Repeater site that Pat's Knob
would make.
I applied with the U.S.F.S. District Ranger RON in Plains, Later that
District Ranger would get back into Ham Radio as Ron
Wachsmuth
N7VLC. The Permit was slow
to come but no fault to Ron as he did all he could. There was other politics
involved in getting a land use permit and finally in 1989 the permit was
granted. It is hard to believe but the permit is to be renewed this year,
and that the last 20 years has gone fast. I might add, That many of the Hams
that helped me tune the receiver through the years have long passed away.

Some Q signals have
never made it to the ARRL's official list.
Here are some that may agree
would be useful in appropriate situations.
As with regular Q signals, each can be a statement or a question,
depending on whether a question mark follows it.
