Mrs. Blood’s Kindergarten News

WOW! What a busy 2 months this has been in our kindergarten community!  We have learned so many things since our last newsletter! In November we talked about turkeys, corn and thanksgiving.  We participated in many fun activities based around these topics.  Tom the turkey kept dropping his feathers on the floor, each feather had a number on it, we had to tell Mrs. Blood what the number was.  We also did a count down on the felt board, each day we took one feather of Tim Turkeys tail and counted the rest backward to zero! We also learn about how turkeys have been used  for a long time to predict weather, we had a turkey who helped us with our weather report every day.   We also learned about estimation.  We had to guess how many turkey tracks it would take the mommy turkey to get to her nest. By the end of the month we were really good a predicting!!!

During the month of December we have had all new games to play. We played a game where we had to throw a paper wad (which we pretended was a snow ball) into the tin with the correct number on it, we played a beginning addition and subtraction game that involved marshmallows and Santa’s beard.  We learned about odd and even numbers with our odd and even Christmas trees.   We are trying to get or train to the North Pole, so we can have a party!!  We have also finished Unit 2 in reading and are moving on to unit 3. This month we also started something called the good behavior game.  Ask us to tell you about PAX and what it means, if you see us!!!  We would love to have you come and visit and see all the fun stuff we are learning!

 Merry Christmas,
