Ms. Echert’s Grade 5 –8 News

Hello for the Middle School!  I can’t believe this year is all ready half over.  It’s amazing how fast time goes.  Hopefully everyone has gotten their student’s report cards in the mail.  If you have any questions or comments about your child’s grades, please call me at school.

All the middle school students have been busy in Language Arts this month.  They are currently working on writing their autobiographies.  It’s been great reading about their lives and what has happened to them.  Their writing skills have definitely improved since the beginning of the year!  Also, the seventh and eighth graders have been learning how to diagram sentences.  It’s been a struggle, but they are doing great with the new concept.

History this month has been busy.  We have been learning about the Industrial Revolution.  Each student got the chance to research an inventor and invention.  They prepared a written presentation about the inventor and also each student created a model of the invention.  It was a lot of fun to see what the kids created!  Included is a picture of the fifth and sixth graders with their inventions!  They did an awesome job! 

Lastly, I just want to say how proud I am of each and every student.  They have all been doing such a terrific job!  Keep it up!
