We are patiently waiting for spring weather to arrive here in the 1^st and 2^nd grade classroom!  But we have also been very busy learning.  We have a new addition to our classroom!  Ms. No Runner is our new student teacher and she will be with us until the end of the year.  We are excited to have her in our classroom!

Here is what we have been up to:

1^st Grade Reading

We just finished reading a story about the 5 senses.  We did some experiments to test our senses, it was lots of fun!  

1^st Grade Math

We are finishing up our unit on telling time.  All the students know how to tell time to the hour and half hour.  They are also learning how to read calendars.  See if your child can tell you what time it is!  Next we will be learning more about addition and subtraction.

Science

We are preparing for the school science fair!  We are doing experiments with paper towels.  We have looked at how fast they absorb water and which brand absorbs the most water.  Soon we will test which brand is the strongest.
