Listservs for Parents and Children Top of Page

Listservs can be compared to round-robin letters: each participant receives all the e-mail messages submitted by other participants, and can reply to the entire list or to individual participants. Listservs provide a method of connecting people around the world who share a specific interest, from chess to children's books. To find a listserv by topic, go to Liszt.com. You may search for listservs for parents and kids by typing in "kids" as a search term.

Internet Filters and Filtering Top of Page

Internet Filters, also called blocking software, are products which attempt to block, or deny access to, certain offensive web sites. Some filters use actual reviewers who judge the appropriateness of each site for children; others block sites which contain certain key words. No filter can block all offensive sites. We suggest you read the Internet Safety information above and explore the Internet with your child. The sites below offer more information and filtering software reviews.
