Soccer 2008

 Thank you to all the parents who came to our parents vs. students soccer game.  The kids had a great time, and so did the parents!  Here are some pictures of our game

As most of you know, our flags have flown for years from the belfry of the school. They flew high and proud, but it wasn’t exactly easy to get them there. A year ago, Kim Adams assessed the situation, took the “bull by the horn” and proceeded to look into our options. She priced flagpoles, sought donations, and educated students of proper flag etiquette. Her efforts are greatly appreciated by all of us, here at the Dixon School. (By the way…we sure do miss her this year!)

On November 11, 2002 our school held a ceremony around the new flagpole to honor our Veterans and our Country. Mr. Faroni addressed the student body, explaining the reason for our gathering and the meaning of Veterans Day. Ron Strawn and Jim Murphy, two of our local Veterans led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

We, the staff of Dixon Elementary School would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people for their time and contributions to our new flagpole:

Dixon School District is very appreciative to Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative for all the support and resources they provide to the school and community.  They assisted the school in developing and implementing a long range technology plan that has drastically improved the education program that we can offer our students.  Today, Dixon School classrooms and computer labs are all wired and equipped with the finest multimedia technology.  In fact, Blackfoot Telephone Cooperative provides the Dixon and surrounding school districts with fast Internet connections at no cost.

Salish Kootenai College provides mathematics and science training to a team of teachers from each school district on the Flathead Reservation.  Along with the professional development activities, a multitude of instructional aide materials are provided for each district.
