Grizzley Bear Poem
By Chad Thurston
Grizzley bears they don't care because of their long hair
They eat meat, they eat berries
They will eat you too
Roaring, wrestling, Grizzley Bears are not sweet
They don't care
They're roaming, wrestling Grizzly Bears
Grizzly bears run all day
They run at night
They go around like dynamite
Granny Groaned
Then she grinned
She knew she would win the long, haired, roaming
wrestling Grizzly bears.

The Dictionary Stuck in Her Throat
by Taylor Beckley
The dictionary stuck in her throat.
She coughs and she gasps trying to dislodge the book full of knowledge
She sputters and mutters but nothing seems to help the poor girl with words in her throat.
For every time she breathes in she’s taking in words not air that should be her lifeline.
Oh no!
Help! she screams but not able to draw the right words
she asks for camels with fries instead.
Shall this be the end she screams and wails
But then she looks into her undesirable fate and begins to read.
She reads and she reads learning all kinds of things
from the book she tried to dispose of.
She learns words like hippo, esophagus and pang and words she’s never heard of
And then she sits down to read all her life
and never closes her mind to new thoughts again.
