Dear 4th and 5th Grade Parents,

It’s time to start work on our school’s Science Fair. Below there are links with information to guide the student through the process from beginning to end and lists of project ideas. We have also included a checklist below for the student to have and make sure that each task is completed.

The science fair project is to be done at home. It is very difficult for a child to get started on a project and work alone without the exchange of ideas, so we encourage you to brainstorm with your child on different ideas and possible topics your child may want to pursue and help your child through the entire process.

The Potomac Science Fair set up will be Wednesday, February 25, 2009, with judging on Thursday, February 26, 2009. Please remind your child that if he/she will be doing a project that involves growing, testing and recording data they will need to begin now!

We appreciate your help and time and please have fun with your child as you work on this project.

Ms. Cockerham and Mrs. Schmill
